Get ready to blast off into deep space on the slot from Big Time Gaming. Cyberslot Megaclusters is after Star Clusters Megaclusters the second game to feature the proprietary mechanic with splitting symbols, roaming wilds, reactive wins, progressive wild multipliers and a free spins round with unlimited multipliers and retriggers that can lead to wins of up to 30,000 times your bet (as per simulations).
Update 7th December 2020: The game has been prereleased exclusively at LeoVegas Casino and sister sites in the LeoVegas Group. It will go global as scheduled on 14th Dec 2020.
Cyberslot Megaclusters is a cascading grid slot with a 3×3 format in the base game and a 9×9 size in the free spins, both with cluster pays. Wins are awarded for clusters of five or more matching symbols landing connected horizontally or vertically (more to that shortly). Available on desktop, tablet on mobile, you can bet from 0.20 to 20 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with an RTP of 96.54%.
The main visuals are typical for Big Time Gaming slots. Simple yet fitting for the overall theme. On this occasion, we get a grid-like structured canvas in blue with neon light streaks raining down. The game window is not all that different from Star Clusters Megaclusters with a display on either side showing the progress towards the feature trigger. An EDM soundtrack and the usual BTG reel noises complete the slot design.
The pay symbols are a range of space rock chunks in different sizes and colours. At the low end, they are turquoise, yellow, orange and green, awarding 10x to 20x your bet for a cluster of 25+ symbols. They are followed by blue, red and purple rocks at the high level. Hitting 25+ clusters will yield across the board 25x your stake.
There are three wild symbols – regular, golden roaming wild and rainbow roaming wild with the latter appearing in the free spins only. The two roaming wilds come with a progressive multiplier (more to that shortly). There are no scatters on the reels.
Cyberslot Megaclusters Slot Features
Recently, Big Time Gaming has been progressively moving away from their Megaways game engine that made them the shooting star in the casino community. The year 2020 saw them releasing only two Megaways games as they brought Megaclusters and Megaquads slots to the market. Cyberslot Megaclusters is the follow-up to their debut, further progressing the versatile cluster-pays game engine. Reason enough to take a closer look as to what has been included on this creation.
As expected, the Megaclusters mechanic is still at the core of the gameplay, featuring cascading symbols and reactive wins similar to any other grid slot. Every spin starts with 9 symbols dropping onto a 3×3 grid in the base game and 81 symbols onto a 9×9 grid in the free spins. Pays are awarded for landing clusters of five or more matching symbols horizontally or vertically connected.
Two new twists have been added in the base game that have the potential to make a significant difference. For every spin, one of the 9 symbols will be randomly chosen to split into 9 smaller symbols, creating more chances to hit a winning cluster. Plus, a Golden Roaming Wild is always present on the reels, which will move around after every winning reaction. Once it moves, its original position will be divided into 9 smaller symbols. However, the wild itself will never split. Instead, it will start with an x1 multiplier, which will increase by x1 after the first reaction and every second reaction thereafter, no limits. Worth noting is that it must be part of the winning combo for the multiplier to increase.
In the base game, as a first step after the initial win is paid, each winning symbol will be replaced by nine smaller random pay symbols or regular wilds. This will give you the potential for a maximum 8×9 + 1 Golden Roaming Wild = 73 symbols. Any new wins occurring will shatter and disappear after which the remaining symbols will drop down and new symbols cascade into the empty spaces. The reactions will continue as long as more winning clusters land after a cascade. All split symbol positions and wild multipliers will be reset to the default before the next spin sequence.
Hitting 12 consecutive winning reactions within a single spin sequence will trigger 6 Free Spins. Keep an eye on the side meters to observe the progress. During the feature, the grid increases to a 9×9 size with 81 symbols. Each winning symbol will now split into 4 smaller symbols giving you a maximum of 80×4 + 1 Golden Roaming Wild = 321 symbols.
The Golden Roaming Wild is transferred with the active multiplier from the triggering spin and will further increase without resetting between spins. Every time it reaches a multiple of x10, it will retrigger +2 free spins. Plus, one Rainbow Roaming Wild is added to the reels after the first retrigger, which will feature a similar progressive multiplier. If both wilds are part of a combo, then they are multiplied by each other. The maximum number of symbols with the Rainbow Wild in plays reduces from 321 to 318.
There is one more extra to mention. Triggering the free spins with a minimum x10 multiplier on the Golden Roaming Wild will automatically add +2 free spins to the tally and also instantly place the Rainbow Roaming Wild onto a random position on the reels.
Just like Dragon Born turned out to be the launching pad for Bonanza Megaways, Star Clusters gave us a first insight into the versatility and capabilities of the newly developed game engine. Cyberslot Megaclusters is a clear step forward, further exploiting the grid slot concept and giving it ample new twists and turns. I have a feeling this is still not the end and we will see more Megaclusters games in the near future. For now, this should suffice to keep the hype elevated.
