Prepare for a hilarious reel brawl on the slot from Blueprint Gaming. Dork the Dragon Slayer is taking on four opponents in a medieval jousting tournament, competing for a kiss from the princess and wins of up to 10,000 times your bet. After Good Feathers, Beavis and Butt-Head as well as Thundercats: Reels of Thundera, this is the next feature-rich slot from Blueprint that is bound to entertain us with a humouristic take of the knights’ life in those times.

Three random features in the base game and a multi-level free spins round that can lead to the Hero Spins with guaranteed wins will be the main events to watch out for while Dork is facing the four mighty creatures.

Slot Details

Dork the Dragon Slayer is a cascading video slot with five reels, three rows and 20 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for two to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. You can take part in the medieval spectacle on desktop, tablet or mobile devices from 0.20 to 500 credits per spin. The game has medium volatility with an RTP of 96.32%.

The cartoon-like design is taking you to the tournament grounds with the contenders’ pavilions set in the midst of the countryside. Snow-capped mountains on a sunny day can be seen in the background. Hilarious animations of the moustached knight and the four dragons will keep you smiling throughout a gaming session. A heroic soundtrack is well-mixed with Dork’s battle cries as well as dragon grumbles, providing the fitting audio to the action on the reels.

Open the game to find the card royals from J through to A at the low end of the paytable, awarding 1x to 2x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by differently coloured pennants with jousting lances, swords, castles at sunset and the slot logo. The latter appears fully stacked at all times. Hit five on a line to win 4x to 25x your stake.

The standard wild is a pennant with a red dragon, while two more wilds appear in the random features only. They substitute for all pay symbols and will award as well 25x your bet when five land on a line.

Dork the Dragon Slayer Slot Features

The slot does not have the standard spinning reels. Instead, symbols are cascading into position from the top at the start of a spin sequence. Any winning combination will explode and make room for new symbols to drop into place. This continues as long as a winning combo lands after a cascade. All wins are paid cumulatively at the end of a sequence.

At any time in the base game, you can benefit from three random features. Dork will appear on stick horse wielding his jousting lance and take aim at a wooden target. This will send it spinning, revealing the chosen reel modifier for the current spin.

  • Fireball Wilds: A dragon crosses the screen throwing fireballs at random symbols and turns them into wilds
  • Wanted Wilds: One to three random reels will turn into stacked wilds. The parts of the stacked wild which are part of a winning combo will explode while the remaining parts are dropping down with the other symbols.
  • Scorched Reels: All reels are scorched and symbols replaced for a guaranteed win.

A typical tournament pole with four panels that were used in the medieval times to indicate a knight’s progress stands on the left of the game window. One will light up for each winning cascade. Landing four consecutive winning cascades within one spin sequence will trigger the Dragon Slayer Free Spins, where the Dork will face four dragons.

The bonus feature runs over four levels with no set number of free spins. Instead, two health metres on top of the game window will decide when the round ends. Dork symbols appearing on a free spin will see the knight attacking the dragon and reducing his health metre. It goes the opposite way when a dragon symbol lands on a free spin. It will need three attacks to defeat one dragon or vice versa for that matter. However, the Dork will benefit from a few extras that will help him in his battles against the dragons when the respective symbols land on a free spin.

  • Shield: Shields Dork for one dragon attack
  • Health Potion: Refills Dork’s health metre
  • Dragon Poison: Instantly defeats the active dragon

A win multiplier will increase consecutively to x2, x3, x4 and x5 for each defeated dragon. Should the round end with the second dragon, then all winnings from the feature are multiplied by x2. This increases to x3 with the third dragon and x4 with the final dragon. Defeating all dragons will activate the x5 multiplier, which will be applied after the final part of the feature is played.

A random number of Hero Spins is awarded after all dragons are defeated. Each of these spins guarantees a win. Once all are played, the total win from the entire feature will be multiplied by x5. The maximum you can win is 10,000 times your bet or 250,000 credits whichever is hit first.

Final Verdict

I always need a moment to catch my breath after reviewing one of these Blueprint slots. The developer is known for its feature-rich games and there seems to be no shortage of ideas for new pay mechanics, reel modifiers or features. While some elements on Dork the Dragon Slayers seem to have been taken from Good Feathers, the bonus feature is unique to the slot. Hilarious to watch and awesome win potential.
