Review
An increasing number of online casino are revealing their very own bespoke Megaways slots. SkyVegas Megaways is next addition to that list, developed by Blueprint Gaming and available at the namesake casino only. It comes with a classic fruit machine touch bolted onto a reel set with up to 15,625 ways, wild substitutions and a free spins round with scatters pays that can lead to wins of up to 250,000 credits or 50,000 times your bet, whichever is reached first.
Slot Details
SkyVegas Megaways is a video slot with six reels, two to five rows and 64 to 15,625 ways to win. The game is using the patented Megaways engine with variable reels where on every spin two to five symbols appear on each reel. Pays are awarded for two to five matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right only. Available on desktop and mobile, the bet sizes range from 0.10 to 10 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with a mediocre RTP of 93%, actually a shockingly low value.
There is little in the visuals to explain as SkyVegas opted for a plain background and a game window in a somewhat classic style with flashing lights and a red neon-lit frame. The classic touch continues on the reels as fruit symbols and bells dominate the paytable together with the company logo.
The pay symbols start at the low end with the usual card royals from 10 through to A, awarding 0.25x to 0.5x your bet for a single six of a kind. They are followed by cherries, plums, oranges and bells. Hit six across the reels to win 5x to 20x your stake. The SkyVegas logo is strangely enough not the top symbol, paying 1x your stake when six land across the reels, but it will be the key to scoring big wins in the bonus feature. The Sky Vegas Time symbol is the wild, appearing in the free spins only and substituting for all symbols while a lightning bolt marked with ‘Bonus’ acts as the scatter.
SkyVegas Megaways Slot Features
Having a bespoke Megaways slot in a casino lobby seems to be the latest thing to have. SkyVegas is not the first one as others like Party Casino announced theirs some time ago. They have though one thing in common as all these creations are coming from the studios of Blueprint Gaming. Looks like somebody has been busy selling the idea of an exclusive game and has been rather successful in doing so.
SkyVegas opted on their Megaways slot for the 6×5 format with spinning reels and up to 15,625 ways to win. The number of features included in the gameplay is rather on the lean side as there is actually only one, a free spins round. Players will have to bear with the rather dull base game as there is no random modifier nor cascading symbols.
Hitting three to six bolt scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger 10, 15, 25 and 50 Free Spins respectively, which can not be retriggered. The lack of retriggers is due to the scatters transforming to SkyVegas Time wilds which will activate the main extra after any potential organic win is paid. Any Time symbol landing on a free spin will transform all SkyVegas logo symbols in view into mini prize reels. Each will spin once to reveal a coin win of up to 50x your bet.
Final Verdict
And the award for the laziest attempt at a Megaways slot goes to SkyVegas and Blueprint Gaming. The game is actually a near-100% clone of Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways, which might get some players to like it for nostalgia reasons. Although, I don’t see any reason why anyone would want to play SkyVegas Megaways with its mediocre RTP of 93% when the original has a substantially higher setting at 95.02%. And that maximum win potential of 50,000 times bet, I simply can get my head around on how anyone is going to achieve that feat.
