Review
Pump up the volume and dive into Ladies Nite 2 Turn Wild on the slot from Pulse 8 Studios, powered by Microgaming’s Quickfire platform. The original Ladies Nite was part of the iconic MG 9-liners that found their way into online casino lobbies throughout the first decade of the 21st century and achieved somewhat of a cult status in the player community. Reason enough for Microgaming to commission one of its partner studios to produce a sequel. The result has more pay lines, additional features but a reduced win potential of up to 1,500 times your bet. Time to find out whether it’s any good and deserves to be named a sequel.
Slot Details
Ladies Nite 2 Turn Wild is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 25 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. You can join the ladies on a night out on desktop or mobile from 0.25 to 50 credits per spin. The game has medium volatility with a meagre RTP of 93.48% and a hit rate of 22.69%.
Loading the game will see you entering a nightclub with all the trimmings you can expect from a modern dance and party location. Flashing lights and pacey EDM tracks and don’t leave any doubts as to where you have stepped into. Four beautiful ladies dominate the reels, ready to jump onto the dance floor to turn wild for a night.
The pay symbols start at the low end with the card royals from J through to A as well as two cocktail glasses, awarding 1x to 1.6x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by four ladies, each with a differently coloured background – green, blue, brown and red. Hit five on a line to win 1.6x to 3x your stake. The renowned disco ball is the wild symbol, substituting for all symbols and also yielding 3x your stake when five land across the reels. The game has no scatters.
Ladies Nite 2 Turn Wild Slot Features
Producing a sequel to a popular slot is always a tricky endeavour, change it too much and players won’t recognize it, change too little and you’re called out for taking the lazy road. Pulse 8 Studios seems to have taken the first option and changed just about every aspect of the game. They increased the number of pay lines from 9 to 25 and got rid of the free spins feature, opting for some in-spin mechanics and modifiers to provide the entertainment. Question is now whether that will fire up the casino community to queue up at the nightclub to join the four ladies for their wild night.
The Respin feature will trigger on every winning spin, locking all symbols that are part of the combo and awarding a respin. Land more symbols or wilds and the process repeats itself until either the screen is filled or no more symbols appear to improve the existing win or create a new one. Wins are evaluated once the feature concludes and the dust has settled.
Keep an eye on the Wild Wheel on top of the reels. On any spin, there is a chance it will activate and randomly select one pay symbol that will be turned into a Multiplier Wild for the current spin. The values of all Multiplier Wilds in view are added once the respin feature ends and the total multiplier applied to the win from the round.
Final Verdict
Fans of the iconic Ladies Nite will most probably be very disappointed with this sequel. Very little of the atmosphere and pay mechanics have been included in the gameplay and the replacements are lukewarm at best. Add to that the excruciatingly low RTP as well as the rather meagre win potential and I can’t see me or many others joining in on the Ladies Nite 2 Turn Wild reel dance.
