Delve into Chinese mythology on the slot from NetEnt as you are about to come face to face with the East Sea Dragon King. You will be descending into deep waters to meet Ao Guang on a fast-paced reel adventure with wild expansions and respins that can lead to wins of up to 6,000 times your bet.

Slot Details

East Sea Dragon King is a video slot with 5 reels and three rows, featuring the Cluster Pays mechanic.  You will need to hit five or more symbols connecting horizontally or vertically to score a winning combo. You encounter with the mighty deity starts at 0.10 credits and goes up to a high roller-friendly 200 credits per spin. The hame has medium to high volatility with an RTP of 96.23%, matching the math model of the MAX version of Berryburst.

A frameless game window is pitched against a serene undersea scene with colourful corals and sunrays protruding the clear waters. A part pay symbols are held in air bubbles while the fabled deity will make an appearance as an expanding wild. A generic Asian-inspired soundtrack completes the slot design.

Pay symbols start at the low end with the bronze, silver and gold lucky coins, awarding 100x your stake for a full screen. They are followed by pearls, ancient scrolls, gold ingots and a jade dragon. Hitting the maximum cluster with 15 symbols will pay 250x to1,000x your bet. The East Sea Dragon King is the wild symbol, substituting for all pay symbols. There are no scatters or bonus symbols on this slot as it does not have any bonus features.

East Sea Dragon King Slot Features

If you ever played Starburst or BerryBurst, then you will know what to expect in terms of pay mechanics and features. Core to the gameplay is the Cluster Pays mechanic where you need to land minimum five symbols in adjacent positions, either vertically and/or horizontally. The maximum pay per symbol is awarded for a 15-symbol cluster, in essence, a full screen.

A wild symbol landing anywhere on a reel will expand and lock in place to trigger a free respin. Any pays on the initial spin will be awarded before the respin is played. More wilds landing expand and lock as well for an additional respin until no further wilds land or the screen is filled with expanded wilds. No further repin is done after the 5th Wild has landed but the win will be automatically doubled, equal to two times 1,000x your stake.

Final Verdict

Well, add another slot to the evergrowing list of Asian-focused reskins that NetEnt started churning out at a high rate in 2019 and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. While some of the redesigns are hugely popular titles, BerryBurst is not really the blockbuster slot that NetEnt envisaged it would be when they released it in 2018 as they hope it will become the sequel to their immensely successful Starburst slot. Our Asian friends will have now their own version to play, although it comes in the MAX version only, which has higher volatility and equally higher win potential.
