Review
Push that fear factor aside as you take on Zombies Gone Wild, the apocalyptic slot from Pariplay. This is one adventure where you’ll actually want to regularly meet those flesh-eating zombie herds as they can turn into valuable wild symbols, paving the route for wins of up to 1,000 times your bet. But that’s not all as every win with the fearless zombie hunters will contribute to three personal jackpots which are guaranteed to pay when you fill up the progress bar.
Slot Details
Zombies Gone Wild is a video slot with five reels, five rows and 50 fixed pay lines. Wins are paid both ways for three to five symbols on a line from left to right and from right to left. You can go on your zombie hunt on desktop, mobile and tablet from 0.50 to 25 credits per spin. The medium variance game has an RTP of 95.88%.
Graphics and Visuals
Set against an abandoned cityscape with deserted cars and buildings, the square game window is dominated by the three zombie hunters. The three displays for the jackpots are placed on the right with a progress bar connected to each of them. A creepy soundtrack completes an authentic slot design.
Pay Symbols
The low end of the paytable consists of the card royals from 10 through to A. Pays for a single five of a kind range from 1x to 1.5x your bet. They are followed on the medium level by three male zombies, each awarding wins of 2x your stake for a 5OAK.
The three zombie hunters Lucy, Tarra and Kira are the premium symbols. They can appear in sizes from one to four symbols high. Land five on a line to win 3x, 5x and 10x your bet respectively. The wins for all three increase to 10x your bet when they are infected and turn into zombie wilds. The scatters are a nuclear hazard symbol and can be found on reels one, three and five.
The Random Zombie Hunter Wilds
Random radiation blasts can occur at the start of any spin. The zombie hunters turn into wild zombie symbols and a random number is added to the reels. The win evaluation follows as usual and the zombie hunters reset to their default state before the next spin.
The Zombies Gone Wild Free Spins Feature
Hit radiation scatters on reels one, three and five to trigger a randomly chosen number of free spins. On offer are 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 or 20 free spins. Any awarded free spins can be retriggered maximum three times when the scatters land again on the designated reels. During the feature, the zombie hunters turn into wild zombie symbols and increase to 1×2, 1×3 and 1×4 sizes to provide extra win potential. However, wins from the free spins do not contribute to the jackpots.
Progressive Jackpot
Three different fixed jackpots are on offer, each related to a specific zombie hunter – Kira at 25x, Tarra at 75x and Lucy at 200x the total bet. Any wins with the respective zombie hunter wild will gradually fill up the progress bar of their jackpot. They are each paid once the progress bar is full after which they are reset and the collection starts again.
Getting Lucy’s jackpot bar to progress seems to be of course the toughest and it took as well in excess of 2,000 spins to achieve the feat. On the other hand, Kirra’s jackpot paid roughly every 200 spins while Tarra’s was somewhere in between.
Final Verdict
Did we survive ‘walking with the dead’ on slot reels and lived to tell the tale? It wasn’t that bad actually as the slot is well-designed and the features hit often enough to avoid boredom. The win potential is not too low either, while the extra jackpots could become something of a reserve bank as the accumulated values are stored up to one year.
