Johnan Legendarian Slot Features

The ‘Book of…” genre is alive and kicking with well over 150 slots from dozens of provides populating online casino lobbies. While most are simple clones of the original Book of Ra from Novomatic and the more popular Book of Dead from Play’n GO, some developers are adding their own twist to make them stand out from the crowd. Peter & Sons is one of them, giving their game two extras that can have a significant impact on your potential winnings. Reason enough to take a closer look.

Johnan Legendarian Free Spins

Hitting three or more scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger 10 Free Spins. Before the start of the round, one regular pay symbol is randomly selected to act as the special expanding symbol. After potential line wins are paid, it will expand and award a payout for all 10 pay lines even when the symbols are not on adjacent reels. You will need three low-value symbols or two high-value symbols in view on a free spin while expanded Wilds can substitute for the special symbol.

Landing again three or more scatters on a free spin will retrigger the feature and select a second expanding symbol. Plus, the free spin counter is reset to 10. Basically, a retrigger on the first free spins will get you only one extra spin.

Throughout the base game, two or more scatters in view will boost the progress bar at the bottom of the reels. Once it fills up, it will award 10 Super Free Spins with the same mechanics as in the standard feature. The difference is that a retrigger will not reset the counter to 10, instead, it will add + 10 free spins on each occasion. Worth noting is that it will take on average 2,100 spins to fill up the progress bar.

Final Verdict

Whenever you think that all possible has been done with the “Book of…” mechanic, there is another developer popping onto the scene with a new twist. Peter & Sons are admittedly late with their take and decided not to give it a “Book of…” name but Johnan Legendarian looks good, is highly playable, just as volatile and has some extra perks included that makes it at least an equal contender to all other slots in the genre.
