The intrepid explorer is back for another reel adventure on the slot from Play’n GO. Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead is taking you yet again on a volatile quest to uncover hidden treasures, this time featuring Stacked Thoth Wilds with multipliers and a Free Spins round with special expanding symbols that can lead to wins of up to 5,000 times your bet.
Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 10 variable pay lines. Wins are awarded for two to five matching symbols landing on a line from left to right only. You can join the intrepid explorer for another reel expedition on desktop or mobile devices from 0.10 to 100 credits per spin. The game has medium to high volatility (7/10) with an RTP of 96.29%. Beware, some casinos will offer the game with lower RTP settings of 94.28% or 91.22%. Make sure to read the help file to find out which version you will be playing.
The restless explorer is returning to the destination of his first reel adventure, the ancient pyramids in the vast Egyptian desert. On this occasion, he is bracing for an encounter with the Ibis-headed Thoth, the mighty god of magic and wisdom. A pyramid and various other deities serve as the backdrop to the reels that are dominated by the same characters and symbols as seen on other slots in the franchise. Equally similar is the suspenseful soundtrack.
The pay symbols start at the low end with the usual card royals from 10 through to A, awarding 2x to 3x your stake for a single five of a kind. They are followed by a range of Egyptian artefacts and deities – scarabs, Anubis and Osiris – plus Rich Wilde himself. Pays for a five of a kind range from 15x to 100x your stake.
The Eye of Horus pendant has a dual function as the wild and scatter symbol. It substitutes for all pay symbols and will award 100x your bet when five appear on a line in combination with Thoth Wilds. Landing three, four or five scattered will pay 2x, 20x and 200x stake respectively. Thoth Wilds appear on the three centre reels only and trigger a win multiplier when one or more land fully stacked.
Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead Slot Features
Play’n GO shows no sign of giving up its reel explorers any time soon. Both, Rich and his daughter Cat are regularly making a return on their slot creations as they expand the Wilde franchise. After Cat’s solo tour to Central Mexico on Eclipse of the Sun God, it is Rich’s turn to travel to ancient Egypt for a volatile encounter with the mighty Thoth.
Thoth Wilds are the main difference to other slots in the Rich Wilde franchise. Whenever he lands fully stacked on reels two, three and/or four he will rise to full height and award a multiplier equal to the number of stacked Thoth Wilds in view. One, two or three will get you an x2, x3 and x5 multiplier respectively. However, only wins that he is part of will benefit from the multiplier.
Hitting three or more Eye of Horus wild scatters anywhere on the reel will trigger 10 Free Spins which can be retriggered. The feature plays out in a similar fashion as on Book Of Dead although with the added inclusion of the Thoth Wilds.
Before the start, a premium symbol is randomly chosen to act as the special expanding symbol for the duration of the feature. Any time that symbol lands on at least two reels, it will expand to cover the reel and award wins for every 10 pay lines, irrespective if they are adjacent. Plus, the stacked Thoth Wild substitutes as an expanded special symbol and is awarding the same multipliers as in the base game. The feature ends when you run out of spins or hit the max win cap of 5,000 times your bet.
The Wilde franchise is clearly a winning formula for Play’n GO and the introduction of Thoth Wilds is a nice twist. Not a standalone title that is too far removed from the original Book Of Dead and maybe a release motivated by market quantity from Play’n GO rather than quality. Nevertheless, Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead is another adventure in the series sure to excite devout fans and maybe add a few new ones to the crowd.
