Join the dashing explorer Gemma on an exhilarating reel adventure on the slot from Thunderkick. Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle takes you on a highly volatile expedition across six reels in search of precious gems and crystals. Gemma will guide you through the dense jungle with wild symbols, tumbling reels, mystery symbols and a bonus game with free spins, exploding wilds and infinite win multipliers that can lead to wins of up to 15,000 times your bet.
Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle is a cascading video slot with six reels, four rows and 4,096 ways to win. Pays are awarded for two to six matching symbols landing on adjacent reels from left to right only. You can venture deep into the jungle on desktop, tablet or mobile from 0.10 to 100 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with an RTP of 96.14%.
A lush green jungle scene is opening up when you load the game with the reels built from single stone blocks that seem to be hovering just above the ground. Two stone columns flank the reels with the left one displaying the all-important progressive win multiplier. As the title suggests, a series of gems and crystals populate the reels together with two characters and treasure chests.
The pay symbols start at the low end with a range of smaller gems in blue, turquoise, green, yellow, orange and pink colours, awarding 0.8x to 1x your bet for a single six of a kind. They are followed by more elaborate crystals in blue, green and orange colours as well as the Snake Henchman and the Monkey General. Hit six across the reels to win 1.4x to 20x your stake. A treasure chest is the scatter while a gem-adorned snakehead acts as the mystery symbol.
Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle Slot Features
Slot connoisseurs might get the impression that this Thunderkick creation is a sequel to their popular Carnival Queen slot. And indeed, most of the mechanics and features are identical although the developer added some extras to the gameplay that will somewhat separate it from the original.
At the core is still the tumbling reels mechanic which Thunderkick calls Avalanche feature. At the start of a spin sequence, a set of symbols avalanches onto the screen and any initial winning combo is removed to make place for new symbols to drop into place. This continues as long as a new win is scored after an avalanche. The progressive multiplier is also returning, providing the potential to score mega wins at any time. Every winning avalanche in a spin sequence will increase the multiplier by x1 and that indefinitely until no new wins occur. In the base game, the multiplier is reset to x1 at the end of each spin.
Watch out for the snakehead Mystery Symbols landing at any time during the base game or free spins. Adorned with lots of pink bling, all landing on the reels will reveal a common symbol once the dust settles, except scatters or wilds.
Hitting three scatters during a spin sequence will trigger 12 Free Spins with any further adding +3 free spins to the tally. During the feature, two scatters will award +3 extra free spins and any additional another +2 spins, no limits. Two twists will have a significant impact on your potential winnings from the round.
First, the progressive win multiplier does not reset between free spins. Instead, the accrued multiplier on the triggering spin will become the starting multiplier for the bonus round and will grow by x1 after each winning avalanche, again, no limits. Secondly, having a wild on the reels without any win occuring will trigger the Wild Explosion feature. All wilds in view will explode and remove all symbols horizontally in their row as well as vertically on their reel to allow for new symbols to drop into place for another chance to hit a winning combo.
Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle is another solid slot creation coming from the independent Swedish studio, although it is largely similar to its older sibling Carnival Queen. Time will tell whether the addition of the Mystery Symbol feature will differentiate it enough to let it stand by its own. What has not improved is the win potential. Whereas it was over 22,000x on the original, it peaks now at just 15,000 times bet. Not that it matters to most players as anyone would be happy to score such a win at any time of the day, week or year.
