Slot Details

Ancient Eclipse is a video slot with five reels, four rows and 50 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. You can harness the mighty powers of the sun and the moon on desktop, tablet or mobile from 0.20 to 100 credits per spin. The game has medium to high volatility with an RTP of 96.53%.

A dense Mesoamerican rainforest scene is opening up when you load the game with a crafted stone frame holding the reels with an ancient temple visible in the distance in between spins. Tribal masks and a Mayan chief are populating the reels together with royals, all held on solid rock blocks. It all changes to a night setting in free spins with lit torches creating a blazing scenery.

The pay symbols start at the low end with card suits – blue clubs, green diamonds, red hearts and purple spades – awarding across the board 1x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by carved stones depicting crocodiles, tigers, eagles, and two gods. Hit five on a line to win 2x to 5x your stake. A sun disc is the wild, substituting for all regular pay symbols and yielding 10x your bet for five. The Mayan chief icon acts as the scatter.

Ancient Eclipse Slot Features

For their debut on Yggdrasil’s YG Partners platform, Bang Bang Games is aiming to connect players with a bygone civilisation and their deep-rooted beliefs in the powers of the sun and the moon. The visuals are conveying that in a stunning fashion, the question is whether the gameplay will do the same. Let’s take a closer look.

Ancient Eclipse - Eclipse Trigger

The main reel mechanic is based on the sun and moon aligning periodically in what we call an eclipse. Any moon symbol landing on a spin will leave a sticky Sun Frame in its wake. The Eclipse feature is then triggered when a moon symbol lands inside a Sun Frame, turning itself and all other sticky Sun Frames into wild symbols. And there is more, landing more than one moon symbol in a different Sun Frames will increase the win multiplier by x1 for each additional eclipse. Once wins are paid, the sticky frames are removed, ready for you to start collecting them again.

Ancient Eclipse - Free Spins

Hitting scatters on reels two, three and four in on spin will trigger 10 Free Spins. All sticky Sun Frames in view on the triggering spin will be transferred and will remain locked in place for the duration of the bonus round. Any new forming in the feature will turn sticky too, further increasing the number of Sun Frames. More moon symbols are added to the reel strips and any landing in a Sun Frame will trigger the Eclipse feature. Plus, they will award + 1 free spin, no limits.

Final Verdict

Ancient Eclipse is a solid debut for Bang Bang Games, nothing overly spectacular but well designed with stunning visuals and ample features to keep you in suspense on your reel journey to Mesoamerica while also capable of delivering mega wins in excess of 4,500x bet. It will be interesting to see what else the creative team up its sleeve for future releases.
