Pirates 2: Mutiny is a cascading video slot in a 5×5 format with cluster pays. Wins are awarded for 6 to 25 matching symbols connected horizontally and/or vertically. You can join the pirate crew on desktop or mobile from 0.20 to 100 credits per spin. The game has medium volatility with an RTP of 96.20%.

A sunken pirate ship serves as the frame for the 5×5 game grid with marks from the preceding battle still visible. The grid itself is a scroll-like treasure map with symbols dropping onto the reels on each spin. Thunderous clouds in the far distance darken the background with rock formations and sandy beaches surrounding the crystal clear waters of the bay. An epic soundtrack rounds off the slot design.

The pay symbols are grouped in three levels, starting at the low end with the card suits – diamonds, spades, clubs and hearts, awarding 0.1x your bet per symbol in a winning cluster. The medium-value symbols are pirate hooks, swords, rum bottles and pistols with payout per symbol ranging from 0.25x to 0.4 your stake. Four pirates in different underlying colours – blue, green, purple and red – are the premiums, paying 0.5x to 1x your bet for each symbol in a winning cluster. Pirates 2: Mutiny Slot Features

While the first pirate-themed slot in the LeoVegas Originals series was a rather leisurely affair due to its low volatility and a win potential of just 1,243 times bet, Yggdrasil took it up a notch in all aspects on the sequel. Core to the gameplay is still their proprietary reel mechanic called Dropdown Wins. At the start of a spin sequence, 25 symbols drop on to the 5×5 grid with the aim to land clusters of minimum six matching symbols to score a winner.

All in the combo are then highlighted together with all other occurrences of the same symbol that are in view and will remain on the grid, dropping down to the bottom while all other symbols are removed.  If two clusters drop simultaneously on the initial cascade, the lower value symbols will transform into the symbol of higher value. New symbols will then drop down to fill the empty spaces. Any further occurrences of the winning symbol, irrespective if they are adjacent to the triggering cluster, will remain again and the rest disappears for another cascade. This continues until no new matching symbols land on a dropdown or the grid is filled with matching symbols.

Wins are evaluated and paid only after a sequence concludes, however, not before potential win multipliers are applied to them. Filling minimum two rows with matching symbols in one spin will see the crab activate an x2 multiplier while three, four and five full rows will award x3, x5, and x25 multipliers. They will reset after every spin sequence in the base game and free spins.

Aiding the reel plundering tour are three random features that can trigger at various points in a spin sequence in the base game and free spins. The crab will jump into action to modify the reels and potentially deliver bigger wins.

• Mutiny: A large 3×3 symbol can land randomly at any time and will reveal one of the four premium symbols, guaranteeing a win
• Cannon Blast: Can trigger on a losing spin, firing a cannonball onto the grid to remove all low-value symbols. New symbols will drop into empty space, potentially leading to a winning cluster
• Tsunami: A massive wave can trigger if after a dropdown no new winning symbols land. It will rearrange the existing winning cluster to ensure the highest possible win multiplier is awarded and initiate another drop of symbols.

Having three key scatters in view within one spin sequence will trigger 7 Free Spins which cannot be retriggered. Before the start of the round, one of the four pirate symbols is selected and will replace all other pirates for the duration of the feature, providing extra potential to score wins with high-value symbols.

The win multiplier for the round starts at x1 and any achieved multipliers will be added without resetting, up to a maximum of x176. For example, filling two rows with a winning cluster in a free spin will activate the x2 multiplier, which will then be added to the round multiplier shown in the top left corner before being reset for the next free spin. The round multiplier will keep growing throughout the feature without being reset until the end of the bonus round.
