Join the fabled conquistador for another thrilling expedition in search of gold on Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live, the live game show by Evolution Gaming and NetEnt. Seek hidden treasure stones with prize drops, multipliers and re-drops in an Inca temple atop mountains and return gloriously with wins of up to 20,000x your bet or €1,000,000, whichever is hit first.
Update 19th May 2021: Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live has been released early at a number of online casinos including those in the carousel below. The global release is planned for the beginning of June.
Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live is played by betting on one or more of six betting stones and then guessing the positions of those stones by making selections before all is revealed. You can join the hunt from 0.10 – 1000 credits per round on desktop, tablet or mobile. Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live is a medium-volatility live game show with an RTP range of 96.35% to 96.56%, depending on which treasure stones you place bets on.
A virtual Gonzo and studio host dressed in explorer gear team up to explain, excite and entertain during the show. Set in a virtual Inca temple of the Americas overlooking mountain tops and low-level clouds of the Amazon jungle, a stone puzzle wall with a keyhole face plays centre focus and highlights the play area. Gonzo dances and brings a touch of entertainment trying to pick diamonds from the skulls, just beyond his small stature. Pan-pipes and the familiar sounds of Gonzo’s Quest add to the atmosphere of the impressive virtual realm.
The treasure stones of different colours carry different multiplying values of your stake and the lower the value the more positions the stones occupy on the wall, plus the RTP varies for each stone based on single stone betting calculations:

Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live Game Features
A basic game round is comprised of two betting stages. The first starts with 15 seconds of placing your choice of betting chip/s between 0.10 through to 1000 on one or more, of six treasure stones and then choosing between 1 to 20 picks for hunting matching stones on the wall. Your number of picks will multiply each betting chip placed for a total bet, e.g. a 0.50 chip on a single stone with 10 picks would be a total bet of 5 credits.
Stage two follows by placing your selected number of picks on the blank stone wall of 70 blocks. Glowing open hands represent your chosen blocks and you can change your mind by dragging to new positions. Be sure to complete your picks before the lit gunpowder trail finishes, though failing to do so will randomly select blocks for you.
After bets have been placed and your positions selected for the hunt, Gonzo pulls a ginormous key as big as himself and turns a lock, starting a puzzle block and key-style animation above the stone wall. A Prize Drop row and key section move in opposite directions before coming to rest and revealing gaps for a prize drop to fall through and rest on a random position on the column below.
Up to seven bonus prizes can feature on a single prize drop, with values from 3 to 100 adding to the value of a stone, multipliers from 2x to 10x multiplying all values in play and a Re-Drop symbol, shaped like a Mobius loop, will trigger a further prize drop, potentially increasing the value of more stones, adding to current stone values or multiplying existing values and even another Re-Drop, with a maximum limit of 10 Re-Drops in a single round.
Prize drops contain bonus values, multipliers, Re-Drops and may even be empty. They are played in that order, adding values and then multiplying them before any re-drop. When finished, the wall reveals stone locations starting with the browns in sections of increasing value; first, the location of the 27 brown stones show, then the 20 orange stones, followed by the 12 purple, seven green, three blue and finally the single red stone.
Wins pay for matching a stone you placed a bet on with a pick on the wall. Your stake multiplies by the amount of stone/s and their final value, plus your original bet returned for the win total, e.g. You bet on a 20x treasure stone with a bonus value of 10 and an x2 multiplier from the prize drop event. Your total win will be 20 + 10 x 2 = 60x your stake, plus your returned bet. Winning picks are highlighted gold while failed ones change to cracked stones. The maximum value that an individual stone can reach is 20,000x your stake.
After acquiring NetEnt, Gonzo looked instantly like the most natural choice for Evolution Gaming to develop their next blockbuster live game show. The quirky conquistador rose to worldwide prominence on NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest slot and most recently was sent on a Megaways adventure courtesy of Red Tiger Gaming. He returns now on Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live for a completely different quest that is bound to become just as popular.
The mix of virtual reality and live show host together with the treasure-hunt-style gameplay will attract existing and soon-to-be Gonzo fans as well as live casino enthusiasts. While there is no bonus game as on Crazy Time, the re-drops will build up the suspense in every round, especially when the multipliers rack up. Overall, a winning combination of an old player favourite and a live game show with a tantalizing win potential of up to €1 million.
Although, for some or even more than just some, Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live will be not more than a standard slot game mixed with a live show host and a virtual character. The gameplay can get boring at times when no or just a few Re-Drops are triggered in a round as that is the key to scoring big wins. There can be longish spells of rounds where that will happen and as such it has the potential to drain your balance quickly.
