Recommended Casinos to play Hop’n’Pop
Hop ‘N’ Pop is a 7×7 cascading grid slot with cluster pays. Pays are based on five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically to form a cluster. Jump into the highly volatile action from 0.20 to 100 credits per spin with an RTP of 96.20%. Hacksaw Gaming are now offering two versions of their slots and Hop ‘N’ Pop can also be found with a 92.20% RTP.
Hop ‘N’ Pop focuses attention on the play area using minimalist artistic design, typical of Hacksaw Gaming slots. Day turns to night during the free spins and the recognisable Hacksaw sound effects work well against the silence until wins form and bring music therewith – a familiar trademark of the developer.
In ascending order of value, the fruity pay symbols start with the blueberry, aubergine, blackberry and carrot, which award up to 20x your stake for 15 or more in a cluster. Apples, bananas and cherries follow, awarding up to 60x your stake for a cluster of 15+ symbols. The strawberry is the most valuable symbol and pays up to 80x your bet for a cluster of 15 or more. Oranges play the wilds, which substitute for all symbols except the sunny smile free spin symbols which trigger the bonus for landing three or more.
Hop ‘N’ Pop Slot Features
Hop ‘N’ Pop is the latest of exquisitely simple creations by Hacksaw Gaming to mix simplistic gameplay with high volatility, such as Cubes 2, Chaos Crew and Stack ‘Em. Let’s see if Hop ‘N’ Pop fits the same mould.
The name best describes the mechanic central to Hop ‘N’ Pop which starts each spin with an x2 Hopping Multiplier that can pop symbols from the grid. When positioned on a winning cluster, one of two things happen; either an orange sunburst doubles the multiplier, or a green sunburst splits the symbol in two. Wins are then calculated on the new multipliers in effect. Clusters pop from the grid, allowing more symbols to cascade into position and the process repeats until no more wins occur, paying the sum of wins at the end of the sequence.
When Hopping Multipliers feature in a win, Orange sunbursts signal a double in value from x2 to x4 to x8, then x16 and x32 up to the maximum of x64. They also clear the grid by popping the remaining symbols that match the winning cluster, e.g. a winning cluster of apples with a Hopping Multiplier on top, pops all apples from the grid.
Green sunbursts split the hopping multipliers in two, with the new symbol hopping to its own position. Up to 4 Hopping Multipliers can be in play at any one time during both the base game and free spins round. If more than one Hopping Multiplier overlays a winning cluster, then the factors are combined to multiply the win, e.g. a winning cluster with an x64 and x32 Hopping Multiplier will multiply the win by x96.
Landing three or more sunny scatters will trigger ten free spins, during which all Hopping Multipliers hold their values for the duration of the round and do not reset between spins. Three scatters will start the round with 1 Hopping Multiplier. Four scatters begin with two and five scatters will activate a tantalising feature with a maximum of four Hopping Multipliers in play.
Hacksaw Gaming slots have become the honey badgers of casino lobbies; cute to look at but highly volatile and prone to wild bouts of extreme aggression. Hop ‘N’ Pop is no different, cleverly executed and neatly dressed from head to toe in Hacksaw style. The new Hoppers mechanic is hypnotising and although impossible to say how successful it will be, with that kind of judgement reserved for players only, Hop ‘N’ Pop is certainly one of the most interesting slots 2021 has to offer so far.
