Get ready to face a colossal ogre on the slot from Stakelogic in collaboration with Touchstone Games. Giant’s Fortune Megaways, initially titled Giant’s Gold Megaways, is loosely inspired by the iconic fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk, taking you to the fabled castle where the bearded titan is guarding the golden eggs.
A volatile journey awaits across six dynamic reels with wild substitutions, cascading symbols, progressive multipliers, sticky wilds, a Golden Egg bonus game and a free spins round with retriggers and multipliers that can lead to wins of up to 20,000 times your bet.
Update 13th June 2021: Giant’s Gold Megaways has been renamed to Giant’s Fortune Megaways.
Recommended Casinos to play Giant’s Fortune Megaways
Giant’s Fortune Megaways is a cascading video slot with six reels, featuring 2 to 7 rows and 324 to 117,649 ways to win (more to that shortly). Available on desktop, tablet or mobile from 0.20 to 20 credits or 0.40 to 40 credits with Super Stake activated.
The game has medium to high volatility with a default RTP of 96.00%. Beware, StakeLogic offers the game with a secondary RTP setting of 94.xx%, always check the help file to find out which version you will be playing.
The fabled castle from the fairy tale with a sprawling waterfall on the side serves as the backdrop to the semi-translucent game window. The mighty giant dominates on the reels as the top paying symbols while all things gold make up the high-value symbols. Not missing are the golden eggs that will be key to entering the bonus game. An epic soundtrack accompanies the usual reel and win count noises.
The pay symbols start at the low end with medieval-style card royals from 9 through A, awarding 0.8x to 1.75x your bet for a single six of a kind. They are followed by gold coin satchels, golden chalices, treasure chests and the giant. Hit six across the reels to win 2x to 50x your stake.
A feather on a blue icon marked with the word itself is the wild, appearing in the horizontal tracker only and substituting for all regular symbols. The castle is the Free Spins scatter while a golden egg acts as the bonus symbol.
Giant’s Fortune Megaways Slot Features
Stakelogic has so far created some truly interesting and enjoyable Megaways slots including Black Gold Megaways and The Expendables Megaways, each with distinct features and modifiers. Giant’s Fortune Megaways is continuing that legacy by introducing some unseen features although most of the work has been done by UK-based Touchstone Games. More than reason enough to take a closer look.
Let’s start with the Megaways engine with its cascading symbols and reactive wins, which are at the core of the gameplay. The exact number of active bet ways is randomly determined at the start of every spin by selecting 2 to 7 symbols for reel one and six as well as 2 to 6 symbols for the four centre reels.
Additionally, an extra reel on top is spinning horizontally symbols into view abeam reels two to five. Altogether, it creates a virtually unlimited number of possible scenarios between 324 and 117,649 ways to win that will make each spin a unique occurrence. A display in the top right corner shows the current active ways.
Wins are awarded for two to six matching symbols landing on adjacent reels from left to right only. The symbols from a winning combination are part of a reaction that will see them explode to make room for new symbols to drop into place. This continues as long as a new winner lands after a reaction. Wins are accumulated from all cascades and paid in one amount before the next spin starts.
The decision to make before you start spinning the reels is whether you want to activate the Super Stake option. This will double your default bet size, e.g. minimum bet increases from 0.20 to 0.40. In return, you will get a golden coloured logo at the top and some extras that might make it worthwhile spending the additional credits per spin.
- Free Spins and Golden Egg Bonus: Triggered with three scatters or bonus symbols instead of four each. On average, three times more features will trigger when the Super Stake option is active.
- Progressive Win Multiplier: A progressive multiplier is added in the base game. It will reset between spins to x1 and increment by x1 for each winning cascade within the same game round. Any active multiplier on a free spins trigger will be carried over into the feature.
Once you made your choice, watch out for the Wild Symbols appearing in the horizontal tracker. Irrespective of your betting option, they will stay sticky until they become part of a winning combination and will carry over from spin to spin if unused. They will also be transferred to the free spins round and back to the base game if any are still present in the tracker.
Having four or more golden egg bonus symbols in view by the time a game round concludes or just three with the Super Stake activated will trigger the Golden Egg Bonus Game. All triggering eggs will display a random bet multiplier before being locked in for the duration of the feature. Initially, three spins are awarded to potentially land more golden eggs. Each appearing will unveil a bet multiplier and will be locked in place as well while the spin counter is reset to three. Again, there are a few extras that will potentially boost your winnings.
- Reel Expansion: Landing an egg on every position of a reel, will see it expand by one position until it reaches the maximum of 7 symbols, creating more spaces to hit golden eggs.
- Golden Egg on a blue icon – Adder: Every time the symbol lands, it will add its own bet multiplier to all other eggs in view before locking in place.
- Golden Egg on a green icon – Collector: Every time the symbol lands, it will collect all bet multipliers in view and add them to its own before locking in place.
The feature continues until you run out of spins or fill the entire grid with golden eggs. Once it concludes, all bet multipliers on the reels will be added for the total win from the feature. Having all reels extended to the maximum 7 symbols and all positions filled with golden eggs will pay instantly 10,000 times your bet and end the bonus game, irrespective of the coin wins in view.
Four or more castle scatters in the base game, or just three with the Super Stake activated, will trigger 12 Free Spins which can be retriggered. Any further will add +3 spins to the tally. The round is played with a progressive win multiplier that will start at x1 and increase by x1 after every winning cascade, no limits and without resetting until the end. In case the feature was won on a Super Stake spin, any achieved win multiplier on the triggering spin will be transferred to the free spins.
The Megaways niche has grown so large that we are almost surprised to see game developers still finding ways to include unseen modifiers or features into the gameplay. Giant’s Fortune Megaways has a few that stand out such as the sticky wilds at all times until they are used or the progressive multiplier in the base game when Super Stake is active.
The Golden Egg bonus game felt like the most exciting part of the gameplay as it can go on for quite some time due to the reel expansions. Overall, a very playable slot with a high entertainment factor and ample win potential.
