What a combination to start one of the most creative online gaming developers in the world. Deriving the name from a gigantic tree in Norse mythology, which connects to the nine otherworldly locations and taking the online gaming experience from former NetEnt executive Fredrik Elmqvist, brought to live what is today one of the most innovative and respected suppliers of online casino games. Not just slots can be found in their portfolio, but also scratch cards, keno, table games and lotteries.

From the very beginnings in 2013, the founder sought to employ some of the best game creators, software specialists, mathematicians talented design nerds. The results are superb creations with engaging gameplay, advanced reel configurations, innovative pay mechanics and suspenseful bonus features, all coupled with high win potential. The late foundation saw them moving their developments to the newest HMTL5 standard as early as 2014, making their games accessible via any desktop or mobile device across all OS platforms. They are located in Malta, the heart of iGaming and also operate major development studio in Krakow, Poland.

In the very short history of Yggdrasil, they signed responsible for two major additions to how online slots are played. First in line is the 2016 launch of their BRAG social media sharing tool, where players can recall game sequences and can post them directly on social media or other video channels. Plus, during a tournament, contestants can watch recordings how the leading players got their high score. This became especially popular when they launched just a few month later their Missions widget. Players compete in a race to complete specified missions like collecting a defined amount of bonus symbols in the fewest possible spin with the top scorers sharing the prize pool. During the Yggdrasil 2017 Christmas campaign a total of €500,000 in prize money went to thousands of players in eight tournaments. Absolutely unprecedented in the industry.

At the core of their success are their superior video slots, which can be found at most reputable online casino sites with many of them making it into players’ favourite lists. In late 2018, their catalogue contained some 50 titles with more being lined up for future release. Their first foray into the online gaming world were Fruitoids and Reef Fun. Later they launched the first slot in the Viking series called Vikings Go Wild, which was followed since with Vikings go Berzerk and Vikings Go To Hell. Their first progressive jackpot slot, Holmes and the Stolen Stones, was released in September 2015, fielding five progressive jackpots that regularly pay out high five figure sums as they are pooled from all casino sites where the game is offered. More examples of their superbly designed and highly entertaining slots are Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Books, Hanzo’s Dojo and Wolf Hunters.
